Do any of these phrases sound familiar?

  • “Do I have to eat this?”
  • “I hate …”
  • “We had this last week.”
  • “Can’t we just have a sandwich?”
  • “Please don’t make me taste this!”

If you’ve been a parent for any length of time, you have likely come to find out that finding recipes kids will actually eat can be a challenge. They have likely not been exposed to as much variety as an average adult has and they also have more taste buds, so flavours that are mild to us can be overpowering to them. 15 recipes kids will actually eat!

While it’s good to expose your kids to new flavours and slowly build up their variety over time, it is also good to have a list of sure-winners that make supper less stressful for everyone.

After many years of trial and error, I have come up with a pretty good repertoire of meals my kids will eat and many of them are ones that they ask for again and again. This has made dinnertime a much more pleasant experience at our house!

There are a few things on the list that are what I would consider “treat meals”, but for the most part, they are very healthy.

Give them a try. Your kids will thank you and you will love hearing a chorus of “Yeah! Tator Tot Casserole” instead of “Yuck…liver”!
