I love these ideas on connection! I hadn't thought of many of these ideas....needless to say, the purpose of connecting to your child. Thank you for mentioning that small victories are still victories!
I tried the idea of my child guessing what word I was writing on her back. She pulled away from me and would not let me touch her and reacted very negatively. So, we left it for that day and kept it light. Another day I used the idea of using a pen and she accepted it and we actually had fun and even laughed together! One of my kids loves her "baby song"....it really does foster connection...she melts! Could you share some of your song ideas?
I LOVE LOVE the idea of pointing out things you have in common with your child....I will be doing that in a really casual way from time to time!
