Sharla, What timely words of reminder for this mama of five! I have “survived” the teen years with my two oldest, however this third, she is harder! As I dropped her off at work this morning, I cheerfully wished her a good day (despite the frustration roiling in me), told her I loved her as she scornfully slammed the car door, and drove off feeling like a bad mom. Reading your post reminded me that above all she needs to know that I love her, I am for her and I am in her corner. Even when it is hard, even when I am reviled and disrespected I want with all my heart for my love for her to be kind just as God’s love for me is kind and merciful. He remembers always that I am but dust and I want to extend the same mercy to my daughter (and my sons following closely behind her!) Thank you again for these sweet words! God bless you today!

thank you so much….this post has really helped me today…I have 2 teenagers and it seems that if its not one its the other that is putting me through the ringer and things at home have been rough enough with work and money that …this last thing just threw me off my feet and I’m still trying to gather my feelings and words to even describe how hurt I was….but, I forgot….she’s still a kid….I’m the adult ~ thank you for reminding me.
