I know they try to be gentle in these situations but they usually have a commanding air that my 3 littles ( ages 9,7,5) who are very out going normaly will clam up. Awesome job mama for showing him the steps to stand up. Another thought to pray about, how much hate are these boys around and even living under with racist/ verbally abusive adults around them? Just maybe they are broken in deep ways that only Jesus and His Love can repair. Prays for your son, family and you, and also for those boys.

I am a teacher and I pray every day that I can teach that color isn’t important. I pray that I can teach love, God’s love without ever being able to say his name. It is incredible, the amount of hatred in the world. Your son was so brave to just walk away. What an amazing young man you have raised. Please tell him that. And you are a great mom – I’m afraid I would have seriously thought about hunting down those idiots and punching them out!!! What kind of home life do they have, to have that kind of attitude about a defenseless kid who’s younger than they are?
Our adopted son is Chinese, and I’m dreading the day someone calls him a “chink”. If it’s in front of me, they will have to answer for it! But I hope I can equip him to deal with it in a proper manner, if I’m not there. It’s awful that we even have to think like that and prepare for that, isn’t it?

We’re in the midst of studying Africa right now. Today we read about Nelson Mandela. I can only pray that what I’m teaching will be imprinted on the hearts of my children. I hope they will show love and compassion to all around them, no matter the color of their skin or their cultural background. This world is such a crazy place. I can’t even fathom how you made it through your evening with your son after all that happened. Hugs!
