Very helpful post.

I think the number-one super-key thing for me was figuring out that my daughter HAD an attachment disorder. Before that, i was doing, you know, "regular" parenting. We found a therapist who literally saved our family. he basically taught us a lot of the stuff you mention here.

I want to say to readers who are feeling despair, you can heal RAD, at least to a point where your family will feel relatively healthy and peaceful. You will have to all work hard, though -- and sometimes do counterintuitive things such as being very strict (in my case) in order to build feelings of trust and safety.

Thanks and love, Sharla,
