ARE YOU STRUGGLING TO UNDERSTAND AND MAKE A CONNECTION WITH YOUR CHILD?

MOVE FROM FEELING DESPERATE AND ILL-EQUIPPED TO CONFIDENT AND CAPABLE:

There is hope.

When you join The Chaos and The Clutter Community Center, you will connect with moms who understand your struggles and are there to offer support. You will find the resources you need and the answers you’ve been looking for.

I would recommend The Chaos and The Clutter Community Center for caregivers of special needs children looking for tried and true solutions, conversations and resources that are backed by up to date research. I parent a child who has ASD, ADHD, LDs and anxiety and I know that typical parenting strategies don’t always work for these children. I trust Sharla because of her understanding approach, incredibly wide scope of experience, and because I have seen first hand how putting her resources into practice creates the space for a deeper connection with my child!

I have 5 children, 2 by birth and 3 by adoption, 4 of them having a diagnosis or high needs. Over the years I have taken a lot of training, read books, researched things online but felt like I was drowning in a sea of information overload, coming out with few real strategies. Information is only useful if you can apply it. I love this community center as it is so well organized and the videos are super short and are packed full of real life examples and simple strategies that I can actually start using right away. I have already had success using some of the strategies I’ve learned in the last couple of days! The resources on this site are categorized, easy to find, and have all been tested by someone I personally know and trust which is a huge deal to me. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has a high needs child – adopted, birth child, fostered, diagnosis or no diagnosis – there’s a gold mine in here that’s going to make your job as a parent of high needs kids SO much better! I just love the support and resources I am getting from this community!

Who runs The Community Center?

The Chaos and The Clutter Community Center was started by Sharla Kostelyk.

Hi! I’m Sharla. I’m mom to 7 kids, two by birth and five through adoption. I am far from a perfect parent. I fail at least as often as I get it right.

This parenting gig is tough. It has humbled me. It has shaped me. It has sometimes broken me.

I’m not a therapist. I’m not Superwoman. I am passionate about helping other moms.

By no means do I have all the answers, but I am a learner. The way I tackle problems is to research everything I can on the topic and try to improve my skills. Fortunately for others, the makeup of our family has facilitated my learning about a lot of parenting-related issues over the years! This is my unique qualification.

The special needs of our kids include: SPD (sensory processing disorder), anxiety, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), allergies, deafness, Aspergers, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder – sometimes called developmental trauma disorder in children), FASD (fetal alcohol spectrum disorder), RAD (reactive attachment disorder), and chronic illness.

While many of the videos in The Chaos and The Community Center feature me speaking, I will also be regularly bringing in experts in relevant fields to share their knowledge and tips with you.

I want members of the Community Center to feel empowered and equipped with actionable strategies they can use to better connect with their child. I want them to feel supported and above all else, to know that they are not alone.

Come join me!
